What happened

Georgia PSC staff hit their deadline to refer or object to Georgia Power's 3.2 GW Project Camellia contract with OpenAI, having signalled they would object absent changes. The Effingham County campus is to be delivered in phases 2028-2032. This is the first of this thread's siting fights to reach a state utility regulator rather than a county zoning board — a materially higher bar. (The Current GA)
