TrendForce names Huawei as backer and puts a firmer figure on the 09-07 FT report — but the count conflicts with this thread's own Aishengna figures in a way the NAMING note already warned about

What happened

⚠️ TrendForce (09-08) fills in the 09-07 FT report this thread flagged as unlinked: Huawei — via its Habo venture arm and the Huawei-backed Shenzhen Yuanzhi Xinghuo fund — is the named backer, and the entity is Yuliangsheng, targeting 12 DUV machines by end-2026, with SMIC named as the tester (alongside Huawei's own production lines). No yield, uptime or commercial delivery is claimed — the piece describes machines "being tested on less complex semiconductors as engineers continue to refine it," consistent with this thread's already-logged fact that SMIC has tested a Yuliangsheng scanner since September 2025. The count itself is the new problem, not the backer: this thread's own NAMING note states Yuliangsheng is a predecessor team absorbed into Shanghai Aishengna, not a rival programme — yet TrendForce's 12-unit-by-2026 Yuliangsheng figure runs well above Aishengna's own ~5-units-in-2026 figure already on this thread, attributed by TrendForce to separate FT vs. Reuters sourcing rather than a correction of either. Recorded as a genuine sourcing conflict, not resolved here: either the absorption is less complete than this thread's naming note assumed, or one of the two unit counts is wrong — DELIVERY (an installed, running, named-fab tool) still has not been confirmed by either account, so the thread's central falsification test remains unmet regardless of which count is right. Credibility ratings combine two public datasets: Lin et al. 2023, PNAS Nexus 2(9):pgad286 (CC BY 4.0) for the domain-quality score, and Wikipedia's perennial-sources list (CC BY-SA 4.0) for the reliability tier. A rating describes an outlet's general record, never this particular article. Unrated means absent from those datasets — not a judgement.
