What happened

Nvidia disclosed its first-ever H200 shipments into China — under a Washington-approved, Beijing-restricted licence — amounting to under 1% of data-centre revenue, and took a $400M charge for excess H200 inventory attributed to soft demand OUTSIDE China. The two facts belong together. The licence that finally opened arrived against a part the rest of the market had already moved past, and the Q3 guide assumes no China data-centre compute revenue at all.
