Beijing confirms the AI dialogue and the AI-incident channel it had declined to confirm

What happened

China's Foreign Ministry said Saturday that the US and China will hold an AI dialogue on risks and benefits, with the next exchange in November 2026, and set up a bilateral communication channel for AI-related incidents. It also said Beijing valued Washington's use of the term "super intelligence" in place of "artificial intelligence", and that the two militaries agreed to conclude a crisis-communication memorandum as soon as possible; until Saturday only the US side had described the AI incident channel on the record; on 09-24 the Foreign Ministry had referred that question to "competent authorities" (see the 09-24 entry). Credibility ratings combine two public datasets: Lin et al. 2023, PNAS Nexus 2(9):pgad286 (CC BY 4.0) for the domain-quality score, and Wikipedia's perennial-sources list (CC BY-SA 4.0) for the reliability tier. A rating describes an outlet's general record, never this particular article. Unrated means absent from those datasets — not a judgement.
