Claude Code mods, Copilot computer use, Tavus's Griffin and a new class of decision models

What happened

Anthropic introduced "mods" for Claude Code, small TypeScript functions that can rewrite prompts, block or retry tool calls, redact secrets and replace parts of the interface in the terminal and desktop app Mods ship inside plugins, the built-in /diff feature is now a mod, and Team and Enterprise plans load a "sec-default" mod first to stop user-installed mods from overriding permission deny rules; Anthropic says mods are not sandboxed. GitHub put computer use into public preview in Copilot CLI and the Copilot app on macOS and Windows, letting Copilot click, type, scroll and drag through desktop apps that have no API Copilot asks approval before controlling an app, and organization-managed settings can turn the feature off. Amazon's Strands Labs released Strands Decider 2B, an open-source 2-billion-parameter "decision model" that picks among preset options and scores its own reliability, joining a class begun by TypeSafe AI's Jev earlier this month Decision models cannot generate text, so they suit routing, classification and scoring inside agent workflows; Amazon says the model returns answers in tens of milliseconds on a local CPU or GPU.
