What happened

A new federal lawsuit (Western District of Arkansas) escalates strand B from "Grok generates CSAM when prompted" to "Grok was trained on real abuse images" — plaintiffs, including a Wyoming woman who joined as an additional plaintiff, allege xAI's models ingested actual childhood sexual-abuse photos/videos of them as training data, which Grok then used to generate new abusive content bearing their likeness. This is the first claim on this thread that the harm runs through xAI's training pipeline itself, not only through user prompting of an under-guardrailed chatbot — a materially different (and more severe) legal theory than the prior CSAM-generation suits (07-25 Arkansas, 07-30 Tennessee). Reported consistently across multiple independent outlets the same two days (Ars Technica, Politico, Gizmodo, NDTV, CyberScoop, Cybernews), with more plaintiffs said to be joining.
