What happened

Nvidia shares touched their first record high since May on Friday, up as much as 3%, then closed up 1.3%, just short of the May record, as its market value neared $6 trillion, Bloomberg reported Bloomberg's first dispatch was at about 9:47am ET and its headline says the value "nears $6 trillion"; Quartz puts the value at around $5.7 trillion and attributes the run to the $150 billion buyback increase Nvidia's board approved on Monday, September 28, and the company's agent-security system. Bloomberg's closing account says the stock trimmed its gains after a two-month selloff that wiped out more than $1 trillion of market value, leaving its value at roughly $5.6 trillion. Credibility ratings combine two public datasets: Lin et al. 2023, PNAS Nexus 2(9):pgad286 (CC BY 4.0) for the domain-quality score, and Wikipedia's perennial-sources list (CC BY-SA 4.0) for the reliability tier. A rating describes an outlet's general record, never this particular article. Unrated means absent from those datasets — not a judgement.
