What happened

SoftBank increased its Arm-backed margin loan from $20bn to $25bn, renegotiated and signed with creditors this month, without reducing its Arm stake — SOFR+225bp plus a 25bp credit-adjustment spread, maturing September 2027. Lenders reportedly offered about $7bn of demand against SoftBank's own $3-5bn target, a sign banks remain comfortable taking Arm shares as collateral at today's prices even as SoftBank raises money by every other channel simultaneously (the dollar-bond roadshow, now passed-silent; the Apollo/Vision-Fund-2 NAV-loan talks, both logged 09-17 below). SoftBank shares rose 1.5% to ¥6,341 on the news, extending the recovery from 09-14's OpenAI-IPO-doubt selloff.
